TUBİTAK Projects

I have research experience in astrophysics and data analysis, where I applied statistical and computational methods to complex astronomical datasets. My work includes binary star modeling using Monte Carlo and Bayesian MCMC techniques, processing JWST data with aperture corrections, and performing OLS regression and statistical tests to explore correlations between stellar parameters and chemical abundances. These projects allowed me to strengthen my skills in Python, R, and IDL, combining astrophysical modeling with advanced data analysis.

CoBiToM Project

CoBiToM Project is an international observing program that investigates merging processes and seeks for red nova progenitors among contact binaries.

AutoHammer

I have developed a spectrum normalization program that simplifies the normalization process using synthetic data as a reference. This tool leverages TLUSTY model atmospheres to iteratively calculate chemical abundances, ensuring precise results for stellar spectra analysis.

Looking ahead, the program aims to integrate Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to normalize spectra more efficiently and with reduced error margins. This approach will significantly enhance the speed and accuracy of spectrum normalization, making it an invaluable tool for large datasets.

Python Automation

Contributed to the development of a Python-based telescope automation system at Ankara University, enabling the T80 and T35 telescopes to perform fully automated observations. The system was designed to execute observations without manual intervention and to automatically reduce the acquired data, preparing it in a standardized, science-ready format for astrophysical research.

Rocketry Team

Our rocket going to 10k ft. It aims to detect the air mass by taking the spectrum of the Sun by deploying the payload at the apogee point. - 13th
